MAMBISA
Roots, strength and connection
Three generations of artists bring together Canarian folk traditions, Afro-Cuban percussion and flamenco in a show full of energy and sensitivity.

Mambisa is a tribute and a celebration. Voices, drums and dance connect cultures and bring memory into conversation with the present.
Three generations. Many roots. One shared pulse.
Mambisa brings together artists from different generations, most of them women. Their music grows out of encounters: between experiences, between cultures and between ways of understanding and passing on tradition.
Canarian folk music is at the heart of the project. From these roots, Mambisa opens a dialogue with Afro-Cuban music and flamenco, through a shared process of research, exchange and creation.
Drums from La Gomera and El Hierro, batá, tumbadoras, chácaras, guataca, cajón and heelwork come together with voices and movement. The result is a show that weaves together memory and the future, strength and sensitivity.
